I have just been online and looked for the key things that make a car a collectable car. None of the information was new, but I did find that it applied to this very special 2002 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo with only 15,000kms.
* Rarity - Porsche have always been a low volume Company and even they admit to not making very many of their "Top" model.
* Historical importance - This was the very first time that Porsche had water cooled a veritable "Mezger" flat-six engine, unlocking extra power, torque and reliability ( thank you Hans Mezger ) creating a twin turbo engine that would find its way into the Porsche GT1 and on to Le Mans victories.
* Motorsport pedigree - 6 speed manual, non invasive AWD, Twin Turbos and the same engine that gave so much success at Le Mans and other circuits.
* Design and Styling - Its a 911, the iconic recognisable design that has been around since 1963 and will be with us for years to come.
* Performance and driving experience - Its a 911, the car that has more race wins that any other car that has ever been made.
* Brand prestige - It's a Porsche! It's an Australian delivered car.
* Condition and originality - This is probably the most relevant point for the 15,000 kms 2002 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo. It is just as it left the factory, apart from 3 completely reversable additions:-
1. The original PCM 2.0 has been replaced by Porsche's new PCCM ( Porsche Classic Communication Management system ) giving you an UpToDate system including Apple CarPlay. The original unit is in its box ready to go back in if required.
2. Techart exhaust tips have been added ( as seen in the photos ) but the original Porsche items are also included ( see photo )
3. A removable window tint has been added.
This car has just gone through a full Pre-purchase inspection by Sydney's leading Porsche specialist and they performed its Annual service and brake fluid flush at the same time.
Books, service history and originality right down to it 2 original factory keys.
This would be the lowest kilometer, most original 996 Turbo that we have ever seen!
Quite apart from being a 420 bhp, 6 speed manual machine with a 0-100 kph in 4.0 seconds, it is also a complete time-warp to 2002.
