One of the most collected and beautiful but least produced Porsche’s ever made, 1993 marked the 30th anniversary of the launch of the 911 and to celebrate Porsche produced a bespoke build spec, limited edition car - the 911 '30 Jahre' Anniversary edition 964.
With only 911 examples produced worldwide, the Anniversary 911 featured an exclusive option specification that was based on the 964 Carrera 4 with wide body front and rear guards, extended hand-stitched Rubicon Grey leather interior, 4-wheel drive, airbags, air conditioning, electric rear spoiler and sunroof. So in simple terms, full tope of the range 964 Turbo specification got carried over to a naturally aspirated AWD 911. A fore runner of a Carrera 4S ??
Just 17 cars arrived in Australian, all painted in Polar Silver with Rubicon full leather. There would be significantly less remaining here today. It is very rare that the come out of collections and are offered for sale.
This particular car was first delivered by Hamilton's of Melbourne ( new Porsche Centre Melbourne ) in August of 1993 ( as a model year 1994 ) and marked one of the very last Porsche 964 series delivered in the southern hemisphere. With so many 964 being absorbed by the likes of Singer, Theon Design, Retro Woks and so on, the number of Porsche ( 964 ) reduces every year, so it is nice to see such an original vehicle, collectable and produced with its turbo body.
There is a great deal of excitement over small production numbers from Porsche. 964 911 RS only 2,282 cars, or 996 GT3 only 1,838 cars, or legendary 1974 911 Carrera RS 2.7 only 1,580.
Now the 911 '30 Jahre' Anniversary edition 964 just 911 units were planned, but even less were finally produced! So it is one of the rarest Porsches produced.
So with the current owner relocating, his collection of cars has finally come up for sale. So be quick, it's not every day we see one!
This car has just had a good deal of service work by Sydney's leading Porsche specialist, which included a full Pre-purchase Inspection, to make it ready for the next owner.
Full service history, keys, original books and the usual historic file of invoices make this a great addition to your garage.
