The 911 3.2 Carrera was launched in 1984 with the standard Carrera body, but if you wanted the look of the 930, you could ask Porsches 'Special Wishes' program to give your car the 'Turbo Look'. This would effectively give you a 911 with the body, brakes, suspension and wheels of the 930 whilst keeping the engine and gearbox of the Carrera. Your friends, family and even car buffs would think you were in a 930, it was only the eagle-eyed Porsche aficionados that could spot the difference. This was'by no means a poor mans 930 though, in ROW form the engine put out 231lag free HP all perfectly spaced out across 5 gears. It was far more involving to drive than the 930 with its ON or OFF Turbo lag power delivery and its widely spaced 4-speed gearbox.
This car was delivered in October 1988 by Charles Follet in the UK. By this time ( 1987-1989 ) Porsche had given the 'Turbo Look' or 'Super Sport Equipment' cars their own option code M491. This is shown on the vehicle delivery sticker and has also been verified by Porsche Cars Australia. It was
This is a very original matching numbers car, wearing its delivery specification colour of Slate Grey with a matching grey full leather interior with factory sport seats. Being an MY89 car it is fitted with Porsches much improved 5 speed G-50 gearbox and represents the very last of the 3.2L Carrera's. It has been very well maintained over the years, major items included an engine rebuild in the early 2000's @ 112,000 miles, a new clutch in 2016 @ 145,000 miles and a Porsche Classic (PCCM) radio has just recently been installed.
It was imported to sunny Australia in 2010 and can be registered in any state without restriction and comes with all its documentation, including books, old invoices and import approval.
